Kallen has worked within the area of Human Services for nearly 7 years and began his journey studying a Diploma of Community Services. This led to an interest in the area of disability and supporting those with high complex physical and intellectual needs. It was during this time his interest grew, and Kallen decided to further my learning and undertake a degree in a Bachelor of Social Work.

Throughout his studies, it was crucial to implement learnt knowledge into practice and it was a fundamental drive to deliver informed and contemporary approaches to those being supported. Kallen has worked in a variety of role’s that support his practice, such as providing direct support work, providing crisis support in emergency services and the coordination of NDIS services.

Kallen has a keen interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds and particularly enjoy supporting those who reside in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or those with complex physical needs. He has finalised his NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration and currently operate as a Core practitioner.

Kallen’s practice framework prioritises human connections and relationships that is underpinned by Person Centred Practice and Trauma Informed Care (TIC). People require connections, in my practice, facilitating relationships is crucial for creating positive outcomes and change to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

Fun fact: I enjoy spending time outdoors and usually spend much of my weekends exploring the hiking trails through the different national parks here in Southeast Queensland. When I’m not on one of my hiking adventures, I’m usually spending time with my partner and Burmese cat, Diesel at home binge watching a TV series or engrossed in a new video game.
